Well I've come to the conclusion that our house has a Black Hole designed especially for my KNICKERS! I apologise for airing my laundry in public, but I assure you that it is all clean as I know I put the items in the washing machine. Somewhere between loading and folding the clean laundry my knickers are gradually disappearing. A few months back I bought myself eight new pairs of VERY expensive lingerie- 4 euro the knick, no less (5.76200 USD), (don't laugh, it's dear for me) and I'm down to THREE.
In the immortal words of Queen Victoria (also my Great Grandmother): 'We are not amused'.
(btw Queen Vic wasn't my Great Grandmother, my G G was another person entirely!)
B had a brainstorm yesterday and spent the day tidying her room. Out of it came four bags of rubbish...

Thankfully, with two sons, my knickers have always remained mine own. But socks, oh that's another thing altogether. And there's also the teaspoon-knicking monster!
Yes, it has always been a mystery to me where the socks went. I am frequently losing the socks in the dryer, and they just disappear. One of life's mysteries.

I think it has always existed in everyone's home, some thing that black holes lies in the washing machine, others think it could be in the dryer, however I think they disappear before ever getting close to either one.
Here is hoping that we can locate the source of said "black holes" soon!

What a funny post! At my house, it seems to be always socks that we can't find. My problem is I have so many unique pairs. It's easier for my husband. He's just got to worry about blue or black. Is that a treadle machine I see in the 2nd photo? I've wanted to make mine work since the day I inherited it. It has a really weird bullet shaped bobbin! All I managed to do was snap the leather belt so far.
A very Happy New Year to you too.
I have another drink recipe for you....which I will post later...incase you didn't like the other's ! HA HA HA ....X X X X X

The socks finally got smart, spoke up and said we need friends and stole the knickers.
I swear the dryer eats all things. I have a bag of stray socks. It's annoying because I know I had 2 matching ones when I wore them.
Amazed at the stuff thrown out --- 4 bags...awesome.
Well, I'm glad other people besides me have these issues. ;)
Love your blog.
Yes, I have the sock black hole, too. Your daughter's room looks great! I hope my 27 year old daughter starts keeping her place clean like she says she is determined to do.
I had to laugh about your knickers. That's another word not used much where I live. I love it!
